The Earthen Pot and the Brass Pot
Complete the following allegorical fable:
During a violent monsoon flood, the swelling waters swept away many household items from riverside huts. Among the flotsam were two pots washed side by side into the turbulent current: one was crafted from delicate baked earthenware, and the other forged from solid, heavy brass...
Completed Story:
As the swift waves tossed them together, the sturdy brass pot called out generously to his companion, "Hold fast to me, my fragile friend! Float close by my side, and I shall shield your delicate frame from the driftwood and crashing rapids!"
The prudent earthen pot, however, kept his distance and replied politely, "Thank you immensely for your benevolent offer, dear brother. But my greatest peril lies not in the driftwood, but in bumping against your unyielding metal body. If the turbulent waves drive us against each other, you will remain unscathed while I shall be shattered into a thousand shards. It is far safer for me to drift independently."
Taking this wise precaution, the earthen pot steered into a calmer eddy and reached the sandy shallows intact, whereas many fragile objects that clung to heavy iron and brass wreckage were pulverized in the churning currents.
