The Thirsty Crow and the Pitcher of Water
Complete the classic fable about resourcefulness:
It was a scorching afternoon in the middle of summer. A thirsty crow had been flying across barren fields for hours searching for drinking water, but all the ponds and streams were completely dried up. Exhausted and feeling that his throat was parched to death, the crow spotted an earthenware pitcher resting on the veranda of an abandoned cottage...

With renewed hope, the crow flew down eagerly and peered into the pitcher. To his joy, there was indeed water inside. However, when he inserted his beak through the narrow neck of the vessel, he discovered that the water level was too low and his beak could not reach it. He tried pushing the heavy earthen pitcher to overturn it, but his strength was insufficient.
Despair threatened to overwhelm the bird, but instead of giving up, he looked around intelligently. He noticed a heap of small pebbles lying scattered near the courtyard wall. A brilliant idea flashed across his mind!
Without wasting a second, the crow picked up a pebble with his beak, flew to the pitcher, and dropped it inside: plop! He flew back, picked another pebble, and dropped it: plop! Patiently and resolutely, the determined bird dropped pebbles into the pitcher one by one. With every stone that sank to the bottom, the water level gradually rose higher and higher.
Eventually, the cool water reached the rim of the narrow neck. The delighted crow dipped his beak, quenched his burning thirst to his heart's content, and flew off triumphantly into the sky, proving that determination and wit conquer all hardship.
