Application to UP Chairman for Repairing a Broken Wooden Bridge
10 March 2026
The Chairman
No. 4 Shampur Union Parishad
Brahmanbaria
Subject: Prayer for urgent reconstruction and repair of the collapsed wooden canal bridge.
Sir,
We, the residents of Shampur and adjoining villages, have the honor to draw your benevolent attention to the acute communication hardship confronting our community. The primary wooden bridge spanning the Titas canal, which connects three villages to the local high school, college, and daily kitchen market, collapsed two weeks ago under heavy monsoon currents.
Consequently, all vehicular and pedestrian movement has been brought to a complete standstill. Over eight hundred school and college students are unable to attend their classes, and local farmers cannot transport their harvested agricultural produce to the market, causing immense financial losses. Patients needing emergency hospitalization have to be carried on makeshift bamboo rafts at grave personal peril.
Under these urgent circumstances, we fervently pray and hope that you would take immediate administrative and budgetary steps to rebuild the collapsed bridge with a durable concrete structure to alleviate public suffering without delay.
Yours respectfully,
The Inhabitants of Shampur Village, Brahmanbaria
