International Mother Language Day Paragraph with Bangla Meaning

International Mother Language Day is observed globally on the 21st of February to celebrate linguistic diversity and promote the preservation of all mother tongues. This historic day has its glorious origins in Bangladesh. In 1952, the Pakistani rulers unjustly attempted to impose Urdu as the sole state language of Pakistan, denying Bangla, the mother language of the majority Bengali population. In response, brave students of Dhaka University and common citizens defied government curfews and brought out historic protests on February 21, 1952. Pakistani police opened brutal fire on the unarmed demonstrators, martyring heroic sons including Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar, and Shafiur. Bengalis are the only nation in world history who shed their blood for the honor of their mother language. Recognizing this unparalleled sacrifice, UNESCO officially proclaimed February 21 as International Mother Language Day in November 1999. Every year, barefoot people place flower wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar singing the immortal anthem "Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano Ekushey February". The day inspires people worldwide to love and protect their native languages.
