Subject: Prayer for constructing a speed breaker on the highway directly in front of the school gate.
Sir,
We, the students and guardians of Narayanganj Model High School, have the honor to draw your urgent attention to the mortal danger confronting thousands of school children every single day. Our school is situated right adjacent to the bustling Dhaka-Narayanganj regional highway.
Heavy inter-district transport buses, cargo trucks, and speeding oil tankers ply this thoroughfare recklessly at breakneck speeds, completely ignoring the school signboard. During the morning arrival and afternoon dismissal hours, when over two thousand young students cross the road, terrifying near-misses occur constantly. Just last week, a student of Class VII was severely injured by a speeding truck while crossing the street.
We, therefore, fervently pray and request that your honor would kindly instruct the Roads and Highways Department to construct a standard concrete speed breaker and paint luminous zebra stripes in front of our school gate immediately to avert fatal tragedies.
