I was thrilled to receive your charming letter asking me to describe my homeland, Bangladesh. It gives me immense joy to paint a pen-picture of this emerald beauty of South Asia.
Bangladesh is a land of perennial greenery, crisscrossed by hundreds of singing rivers like the Padma, Meghna, and Jamuna. We have six distinct seasons, each arriving with unique charms, vibrant blossoms, and musical rains. Our land is blessed with the world’s longest unbroken sandy sea beach at Cox’s Bazar and the largest mangrove forest, the Sundarbans, home of the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger.
Above all, our greatest treasure is our people. Bangladeshis are remarkably simple, resilient, and famously warm-hearted. We treat foreign guests with unconditional warmth and hospitality. During national festivals like Pahela Baishakh, the whole country dances in harmony.

সবচেয়ে বড় বিষয় হলো আমাদের দেশের মানুষ। এ দেশের মানুষ অত্যন্ত সহজ-সরল, অতিথিপরায়ণ ও সংগ্রামী। বিদেশি অতিথিদের আমরা পরম ভালোবাসায় বরণ করি। পহেলা বৈশাখের মতো উৎসবে পুরো দেশ আনন্দে মেতে ওঠে।
তোমাকে বাংলাদেশে আসার আন্তরিক আমন্ত্রণ রইল। তোমার ইংল্যান্ডের জীবন কেমন কাটছে তা দ্রুত চিঠিতে জানিও।
